He may very well be willing to let the mortgage get modified to extend the balloon or even amortize the loan out.Hope this helps!!

They went to the bank, put in the money, and got a deposit receipt. they had physical proof that they had paid and I could log in and see the deposit.

Lenders who do not have a physical branch in Texas do not have the ability to write cash out loans here and they can be a little tricky if someone is not accustom to writing them.  

Get their physical address and mail them a written "Thank you" note within 12 hours of the meeting.The fact that you're even asking this question suggests you'll probably do well during the meeting no matter what.

Another option would be if your accountant (or other professional) would agree to have your business license information registered to their physical address and files are certainly stored there.
