I've always felt somewhat drawn to real estate ever since I was very young and am not ashamed to say that at age 7 or 8 I would watch the early morning infomercials with fascination as I saw how easy it was to build your net worth with NO MONEY DOWN and just hours a week.I have a fairly robust background in investing given that my current job requires it, an undergraduate degree in a finance and the beginnings of a CFA charter, so at very least I have a cursory understanding of RE finance, especially from a numbers point of view.

He decided to let the bank foreclose and the auction was scheduled, then the morning of the auction it was called off and all commination ceased with the bank, side note this was two yrs ago.

It depends on the attorney, your relationship with them and how good or bad the title of the place is (funny enough all clear is probably longer than issues since as soon as there is an issue you, well know that there is an issue...).It is not uncommon for me to shot an email to my attorney if I get an offer on an REO accepted in the morning and have an informal good to go by the end of the day.

I know you are busy & live one hour away from the Inland Empire, but I would be more inclined to make a one hour or 2 hour drive than a 3-6 hr roundtrip flight with a 3 night stay & missing work to take care of an issue with an out of state property.I'm sure your family members are experienced & mean well.
