I just looked on Zillow and see some existing cabins for the high 300s/sqft but they're basically orange boxes with green roofs.We had success custom building our first cabin and believe we can do it again with the second one by building something that stands out.

It's not uncommon for these companies to charge an arm and a leg because they expect insurance to pay for it.I would contact multiple companies (if available), explain exactly what happened, and then hire someone with a reasonable response and a good reputation.

I think Opendoor posted a profit finally this year, but very miniscule: https://investor.opendoor.com/...So I second what @Doug Smith said, but it will always be crucial for YOU, the investor/buyer, to run your own numbers to make sure no one is pulling your leg.

Ideas for an investment property Alabama/Florida Coast

So far I can report the following:- humidity is so high comparing to Cali (took few days to get used to sweat) but really nice and warm even at night,- lots of insects and mosquitos (took few days to realize I had been bitten) - both climate and wildlife are so different here,- I really loved Alabama - Mobile with its historical houses and little downtown & Gulf Shores/Orange Beach with its long white sandy beach, local restaurants and bars.
