I realize that crowdfunding has changed...You now can invest in crowdfunding rather than donating to entrepreneurs... but is it a step in the right direction or a step back from other borrowing methods.?

I talked about the idea with my parents and a few friends who are all more or less supportive. 

I also want to move out of my parent's house and move in with my gf.

I am currently 26 years old and understand the idea I can not live life the way my parents did...knowing they would receive a large pension benefit from their employer if they just did their time.  

My husband & I have committed to NOT live the way our parents lived and to teach our boys differently as well.  

I also have a friend whose parents owned a dry cleaning business. 

My inner drive to succeed in real estate investing comes from the desire to help my parents comfortably retire and provide a lifestyle of freedom for not only myself but for my loved ones. 

I was hoping for some problem solving ideas and honest opinions on my potential First deal (My Parents' out-of-state vacation rental property in Palm Desert, CA).  

This property generated lots of revenue in the 40 years my parents owned it.

Most of their donations come from home builders that purchased too many materials and they wanted the tax break for donating it.
