Things are generally less congested with fewer traffic issues.If you're looking for affordable MFRs, my favorite places to look are the west side of Brockton, Middleboro, Plymouth, Wareham, Pembroke, Kingston and Marshfield.I ran the numbers recently and found that for what you'll pay for a 3-plex in Boston, you can buy 2 or 3 in Plymouth County.

There are scattered areas around there that are still high crime areas, but anything west of I-45 inside the 610 loop should prove to be a good investment long-term.

There are great flip neighborhoods (Point Breeze, Fishtown, Brewerytown, West Philly) as well as attractive rental neighborhoods (especially if you like the blue collar rentals like we do).But there could be a lot more to like about the city.

Anyways I'm in the DC area (Herndon VA, 15-20 miles west of DC) and real estate is crazy expensive down here.
