Newbie to this world as a whole

Hi all, Aaron here. I'm new to real estate as a whole but have always known it's where I wanted to land. I've become obsessed with researching houses and information, I fall asleep to BP podcasts lol. Anyways I'm in the DC area (Herndon VA, 15-20 miles west of DC) and real estate is crazy expensive down here. I work for a construction company and used to own my own handyman service (sort of like property management but not as in depth). I like the idea of a challenge but the idea of risking someone else's money somewhat scares me being new to it all. Just looking for any advice anyone has to give and some conversation!
