I have around 10 years left in military before I intend to hang up the hat, so our goal is to replace my income before I retire (but hopefully we can do a lot more than that.)I look forward to being more active on here, and hopefully meeting some fellow investors near Fayetteville! 

I went with REIT's cause my long term goal is passive income (big surprise) with minimal work (bigger surprise).

Now just to give you a heads up my goals are to have enough buy & holds to replace my income so that is what I plan on doing with this property.

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer in your case and a lot of it comes down to your own goals.
