@Anthony MorrowI don’t know the tax part but I’m concerned that you have funds in a syndication for 6 years for a ground up development with no returns.Something doesn’t sound right.I wish I could sound more encouraging.

Again the political direction is to encourage home ownership. 

They did not want to encourage people to buy up a multitude of large houses and rent them all out by the bedroom.

I'd encourage you to dig deeper on your "why." 

Obviously DYODD.I know you said you just bought a place you love and don't want to move, but I would encourage you to research house hacking and be open to changing your mind if you are serious about getting started owning rental property.

It's very encouraging to hear it from people who are out there and are doing it everyday.

They also encouraged me to have pets and found someone with two pets and came to find out they keep pet rent.

Encourage people to contact the owner and ask that they take action.

It really is your best option and I would encourage you to read a book on house hacking to fully understand why!
