As RE clubs go, so far I've joined Lifestyles Unlimited (the basic membership - wasn't ready to shell out $20,000+) and The Wealth Club. 

His goal is to continue living inexpensively as a tenant himself and save up to purchase more income properties.Home ownership is a lifestyle purchase that is expensive and can slow down your investment growth plans.

I desperately want to relieve the burden from him that if he loses his job we will lose our lifestyle.

I'm going to a meetup group Saturday sponsored by  lifestyles unlimited here in Houston.

Based on work and our lifestyle south Charlotte is the best location for my wife and I but also seems to be a really hard area to find good deals in.Our goal is to buy something, live there a year or two, then start renting it out. 

Im anxious to do my first deal, ive changed my life style spending wise in order to payoff debts(not a lot) and im able to save more but its still a 2-3 year savings plan on my income in order to afford closing cost and down payments.

I would suggest listening to the Lifestyles Unlimited Podcast.  

The Lifestyles Unlimited guys know how to do this and make money with a D.

I love the passive income and being able to live a lifestyle I want, I also really enjoy renovating.So I've worked on putting my team together, I believe there are three parts to making up a good real estate team.1) Investors2) Maintenance / Property Managers3) BorrowersRight now, I really fall into the first category, my best friend is quickly becoming very good at doing renovations, taking courses to learn all the rules of the Landlord Tenant Act, courses on building bylaws, and watching pocket fives podcast to not make the same mistakes I did at first and many others have.I'm just looking to soak in all the knowledge I can on these forums and hopefully build some good friendships with the community.Cheers,Glenn
