Looks like you've gotten a lot of good advice on here.

The biggest thing for me was commission split when I started as most brokers aren't going to teach you much of anything and are really only a resource for advice before you make dumb mistakes.

You've got some great advice from others in this post already, so one thing I'll add is to make sure you are analyzing deals, running the numbers, and just practicing these things so that you start getting comfortable with understanding what does and does not make a good deal.
