I was planning on using my realtor to do the paperwork and everything b/c I have no idea how to do all of that.  

I'm not a CPA either so take that with a grain of salt, but I don't see an issue with this.I guess the only issue I would see if you have C or S Corp...if you have an LLC you should be fine.

. $8,000 seems high to me, but A) I don't know the entire scope, B) I don't know what was agreed to before hand, and C) as a former boss of mine used to say, you can't put the s*** back in the horse.

I am still early in the learning stage, but I believe I am leaning toward buy and hold in the B- to C+ grade single family and small multi family area.I'd like to network and maybe find some local investors that are willing to share some knowledge.

I'm going through the final step in BRRRing my first duplex, so I'm getting close to the next one but want this all legally set up before then.So with that, I'm wondering what suggestions you may have as to which route to take, LLC, S corp, C corp, etc?

I am currently focusing on building a portfolio of value-add class B-/C+multi-family properties in DuPage County over the next several years.
