Typical issues will be zoning, setbacks, and utility easements (I am civil engineer and work with this stuff everyday; this step is very important).

Hello, I'm a 22 yo College student currently a few semesters away from getting my Masters in Plastics Engineering and have a job as a Plastics Engineer. 

The house has settled and a cement floor over a crawl space has settled and cracked. it is not a huge crack, but it is still a crack.Im in search for finding a Structural Engineer and I'm coming up short with my search. within my area there is a total of 3 people so far to look at it.

I may be able to chime in on this subject a little more (I am a civil Engineer in Davidson county).

Like so many other examples of statist legislation, this attempt at "progressive engineering" will have unintended consequences.  

Outside of basic search engines, what else can you do if all you have is a name?

I’m from Conroe, Tx, I’m an engineer for a major oil and gas operator in Houston, TX.

They all seem to have concerns with the "structure" and ask if I have had a structural engineer look at the property-I have not.

I have an Architectural Engineering degree from the University of Miami, and I currently work in Manhattan as a project manager for a construction management firm, building high rises.

Granite requires maintenance and will stain; consider engineered quartz which is durable and maintenance free.
