Newbie from New Rochelle, NY

Hello, my name is Adam Cherko. I am thrilled to have found bigger pockets. I was introduced to it by my friend Nick Brown, who is also a member here. 

I am new to the investing world, I've been reading, listening and going to a few boot camps and such for 8 months. I do have a background in this world though, and am thankful to be putting these pieces together finally. 

I have an Architectural Engineering degree from the University of Miami, and I currently work in Manhattan as a project manager for a construction management firm, building high rises. I have bought one single family property, that I completely renovated and lived in. It is located in North Kingstown, RI and is listed for sale currently. I am looking to take what I've learned with that property and start my future wealth building on this momentum. 

I have always been a bit of a 'jack of all trades' and have prided myself on my attention to detail and "talent" but realize that I get excited about being able to work on many moving parts! That being said, I find myself slightly torn on where to start. Like many, I do not have much personal capital, I have already started building my relationships with possible investors that are family and friends. My ultimate goals are to build huge wealth so I will be able to spend time with my family as I get going creating it, enjoy the creative side of design and tinkering with well engineered things, and teaching! (I also taught high school math for 5 years, and I currently teach country line dancing some evenings to start saving cash) I would love to teach within the real estate realm once I have the experience behind me. I enjoy design, numbers and solving problems. I also have sales experience, I think I have found my calling! 

I'm also an Eagle Scout and love to give back to my troop. It would be great to connect with other Eagle Scouts that are here on bigger pockets!

Lastly, I am currently looking for a multi unit in Weatchester, NY that I can get into an equity position with and live in. While I currently have a great full time position in the industry, I need to be able to commute via metro north in Westchester or the subway from the Bronx, into Manhattan daily. From there I will continue to learn and start to work on deals, ideally flips, to support buying and holding. I would love to own large (>200 unit) buildings!
