It won't matter that it's secured by your personal residence.It gets much more complicated in reality, because you would have a mixture of business and personal use, but the point is that your interest will be at least partially deductible, and in a much better place than personal itemized deductions on Schedule A.Once again, if the property is never rented for profit - then the interest attributed to it is not deductible unless the loan is secured by that same property.

One month ago, we thought that the unprecedented implosion in US commercial real estate in the month of April following the near-uniform economic shutdown following the coronavius pandemic, manifesting in the surge in newly delinquent CMBS loans would be one for the ages, even though as we predicted May would likely be worse as a result of the spike in specially services loans.

We have local attorney that may be able to handle the situation but I'd prefer to work and develop a relationship with an attorney that specializes in insurance fault as this certainly won't be the last time we need one.There is a mountain of information at this point showing the insurance companies bad faith throughout the process.
