The tolerance is usually 1 inch. 

I know every inch of this county, and would share my informal opinion on anything you stumble across.

So far it has sank about 2 inches at the worst corner.AquaGuard recommended putting in about 18 piers as one side of the 3,100sqft house needs to be jacked up.

You can tell when you open the wall if its time or not (if you can put your hand in the 4 inch pipe, it is time!).
