But if this is part of a long term strategy then it could.If this year you to a tile shower, then at the next turn you do upgraded counters in the kitchen and bath etc....then yes.

I haven't found much of value after a move out or an eviction (well, my son and I once found a packet of what we assumed were drugs and I suppose the tenant would have found that of value but we presented the stuff to our local police instead) but I am a big one on recycling intact furniture to our local Habitat and Catholic Social Services organizations to avoid good stuff ending up in the landfill and donating canned goods to our local soup kitchen

To add to @Matthew Forrest's point, a homeowner without previous experience with the design-build process for an ADU should realistically expect 12 months from initial design to completion.

It was an issue I was aware of and willing to accept.Our kitchen sink had been draining slowly since moving in, so I removed the p-traps, stuck a shop-vac in the trap arm to clean out as much sludge as I could, and reinstalled new traps.
