There are reasons one would go for an AirBNB but on just outright price for a place to stay, its just not happening in this market.The STL market as a whole is extremely overbuilt with hotels and there just isn't a whole lot of tourism based travel to cater towards your traditional AirBNB type establishments.

I think our family of seven spends about 60k a year on bills, food, etc. and that's it.

I never go hungry around my house, plenty of food, come on by.   

I remember growing up in Long Beach in the early 80’s as a product of welfare and food stamps.

Nothing wrong with Yelp you get high quality work with the well reviewed companies and often times less headaches they just cater to homeowners who aren't as price sensitive as investors. 

Mice will move around several hundred feet between where they nest and their furthest extent looking for food.
