I eventually won that argument by finding legal reasons, but he refused to allow the lady who runs the office on-site (one of the few who is not his relative) accompany my broker in the walkthrough with the buyer even though I pay her FT hourly, medical, 401k match, etc. and the contract says she is my employee.

I wouldn't rent to someone with a recent BK, unless maybe is medical then I would want to see the whole docket summary showing it was for medical bills and not just credit cards and a boat.

License alone sells for 300k or so, it is a big money making here, but it is also a risky business, specially if you cant get medical/medicare patients or poor marketing of clients where you'll get < 70% occupancy.
