But the military aviation community pretty much has nothing but negative things to say about working with USAA IRT mortgages.I myself am a 17 year member, and have zero plans to use them for my VA loan.

Purchase price for 3/1 on 1 acre outside of town but only 5 minutes from major military base - $50K (realtor estimates land value at $65K)House is block construction, and foundation/walls are solid.  

I would tell myself: "join the military, its only four years and you will reap the experiences, lessons, and benefits for the rest of your life.

I do not know how the market is in your area of TX, but from what I read, it is is pretty good and you should be able to find a few good wholesale deals if you can scare up $2-5K to do a few yellow letter campaigns or other advertising.While 6 months is not as long as  most military deployments, it is still time away from your family.  

For example we invest in military bases that have abnormally high rental rates versus house price.

@Ursula B. thank you for that information, I wonder do you have to be military to qualify.

That will appeal to the Military buyers, due to ease of transportation around the bay.

I am thinking of moving out but when I started the process 6 months ago (there was this big challenge with me getting out of the military and working for family) it was not my intent to move out a short after the purchase.
