Neighbor will give you clues to a missing owner's whereabouts, usually in the form of a piece of the puzzle but not the entire puzzle picture.Thus us all good because thus means very few or perhaps no competitors will be in contact with the owner, theirs heirs or claimants.

It requires nothing for people to do it.I remember when I thought a 3,000 check was good over a decade ago , then I took a picture at 30,000, then I made 100,000, then 160,000, then 210,000 in one shot.Find someone local that is actively closing deals and see the missing pieces for your business.

This really is with my vacation rental business and has not been an issue with the full-time rentals.I had one homeowner that wanted me to replace all of the steps to her deck (at my expense) because a small piece of wood had chipped or worn off the front of some of the steps.

What I would suggest if you want piece of mind is find a small siding company and have them unzip the siding under a few of the Windows so you can see underneath.
