@John W. refinance, save, or HELOC I know that sometimes having a property free and clear is a nice thing to have so if you can avoid leveraging it long term for your peace of mind that may be the right solution for you.

They often times can offer better rates for properties that have never flooded before and that are in the lender required flood zone (A or V) if the property is in a nonlender required flood zone map (usually an X flood zone) then the government NFIP would be a better solution for you because they subsidize these properties and considering there is a high chance that any given building could be at risk take advantage of this option.

Best solution I've found is to try to stick to AMCs owned by the wholesale lender that I'm sourcing the loan to (& stick to lenders that have ownership interests in AMCs).
