Just wondering if anyone could recommend some books on the world of rental properties and landlording?

Banks don't want to be landlords.

So I'm going to need to rant for a second.I have a few properties that are a buy and hold investment and I'm landlord.

@Curt Ranta I recently became a real estate agent in NYC and when I asked about joining the local mls RBNY I was surprised to learn very few use it All the brokers ,agents,landlords etc use a sight called  , streeteasy.com  ,which overcame the need for paid mls lisitngs.

This solid base includes being financially sound, repair and maintenance knowledge, and landlord/tenant law knowledge.

I have a couple who recently contacted me saying they did a lease option to buy on their current home and the landlord stopped paying so the house went into foreclosure and now the bank has it back.

I am hoping that we will be able to rely on prior landlord feedback to make this call, but if we should strongly consider a separate service for this above and beyond SmartMove, I'm interested in any recommendations.

If you plan on doing this.1) Charge an additional 2 days rent.2) Charge a service fee.3) Make sure you amend the lease.4) Call their previous land lord to find out if they are skipping out on any rent.
