That said, they can do very little to prevent you from having a “roommate” or havIng a relative live there - you’ll have to find a tenant willing to support that they are sharing the unit with you if questioned and you could draft a roommate “share” agreement rather than a lease for that fIrst year.

You will want to make sure that the beam above supporting the roof is in good condition as wellif you are trying to fix the columns using similar materials, you will want to make sure the existing block is structurally sound.

It's rough when you're not in the country and depend on the support of the agent.

My point was that your experience supports my observation in the sense that I think they are trying to be "market makers" and sort of control prices. 

So, just called our local commercial real estate broker association asking them if they have any data supporting who sold the most multifamily property in 2017-2018. 

That doesn't last long because you end up with hours a day you are not selling and just helping others sell.I would recommend talking to other agents in the area and see what kind of support systems are available.
