If the tenant/buyer needs an extension, I extend the Option period by a few months but I get them to lease the house month-to-month.

I have extensive experience with handling, offering, and negotiating short sales, as both a lender and Realtor / RE Broker here in CA.Banks know what the house is worth, and that is why they rejected the earlier offer.
