The sergeants should check with their first sergeant for more guidance on why you don't fraternize with officers, they will have some stories for you about ruined careers and toxic command environments when the NCOs stop doing what they are supposed to do and start being buddy buddy with young officers.EDIT: come on man, Army?

So I suppose I have an advantage if something goes wrong.The tenant takes on some risk too in paying in advance.

Without any prior or proper notification....the tenant did exactly what they were supposed to do...pay their landlord.
