There are a number of good groups in the area and some folks that really want to see you succeed.  

If you don't have a great team then you might not succeed at all.Spend all your time making RE friends where you are so you have people in place NOW that will allow you to move to FL and continue to be profitable without any stress.

There are many investors who have succeeded and they didn't "nay say" the market based on the public school system.  

I would love to see everyone succeed in real estate or their chosen field, but I have seen the results of folks, especially the elderly who have lost nearly everything they had folks who promised but did not deliver.
