Ergo, when you subsequently sell the shares you would owe capital gains on the difference between your basis ($500) and the amount that the stock was sold for.Say, you eventually sell the stock for $1,700, your capital gains would be the difference of the "carryover" basis of $500 (NOT the $1,000 FMV as of the date of gift) and the selling price of $1,700; hence, your capital gain would be $1,200 - subject to the capital gains tax rate that would be in effect at that time.Again, seek out a competent tax advisor for further guidance.

At the bottom I have an implied rent value based on a later section that compares advertised rental rates.Next section is the Recently Sold section which is effectively the same as the current listings.I've noticed in my area there isn't a lot of recently sold data.

The 0% down loan limits do not scale up with unit count for VA loans, but lenders often have FHA and VA lumped together as "FHA/VA" in their heads.From VA.gov:VA's 2017 Loan Limits are the same as the Federal Housing Finance Agency's limits - 2017 Loan Limits (Effective January 1, 2017).

As an investment banker, and my colleagues and I strongly believe that a 15Y or 30Y fixed mortgage is the ultimate bank scandal, since you effectively pay double to triple your purchase price if you include the future interest payments.By saying that, I also bias since I love ARMs, and I believe that despite the rising interest rate environment, ARMs are still the best choice, although it does take some understanding.
