Newbie from Dallas, TX
Hello BP members!
I am a recent Software Engineering graduate of Texas A&M University and have re-located to Dallas around the Bishop Arts District. I now work as a Software Developer for Fidelity Investments in Westlake. I have been on a very slow analysis paralysis mode for the past year and have not been active and intend to change that. I have attended my first real estate meeting this past week in Uptown that gave me the urge to go forward and take action.
I am an avid listener of the podcast and listening specifically to ones regarding multi-family properties. I also get lost in the trail of articles this website has to offer! I am getting more organized in regards to that. Thankfully BP has a great new series on Path To Purchase!
My current goal is to invest in a multi-family and start off through using a unit as primary residence while renting out the others to tenants. I hope that I can learn a trick or two from Dallas BP members and soon enough pick up on my first property!
Look forward to meeting other investors!
Thank you

@Bart H. No, unfortunately not. I had moved out to Raleigh for half a year for training and came back and found a 6 month lease at an apartment and using this time period to try and find myself a multi-family to invest and start off owner occupied.
@Michael Lee I appreciate the detailed thought put into your response! You're right about taking things one at a time and letting various people do the various jobs that could help me. Doing it all at once has me confused and I need to step back and find the right people to surround me. I am sorry to hear about the personal health issues, but glad you're on the come up and hopefully you're very close to fully recovery! I will definitely reach out to you in the near future! Thanks for the recommendations and reference to look up Lance Edwards!
IF you are in the market to house hack in the Bishop Arts , you might check out this 3unit, I just saw it come thru one of my searches today.:
1123 Kings highway Dallas TX 75208. listed for $265K, no idea what you could get it for.
If I was looking to house hack, I would at least check the place out. I dont know who has it listed, or what condition its in, but that location is fantastic.
I am guessing you could get 900-1200+ /month depending on the condition for 1 bedroom units. And that location has great appreciation potential.
we just bought a place last week, and have a place on the market right now or else I would look at it. only mentioning it here because its right up the street from the Bishop Arts. Dist.
