@Clayton Mobley, are you implying that if you own a duplex and live in each half for two years of the last five you can then sell it without paying any capital gains on either side?

@Tiffany Roberts Congrats on snagging those five rental properties.

I would suspect that rents will go up considerably in Los Angeles over the next five years.

If you played your cards right you may even cashflow upon moving out because you will now rent the space your were living in.
