@Chris Callaghan The best thing I look for is a track record and testimonials from people they have helped already...Not that testimonials can guarantee they can help you, but it gives you some confidence...Thank God for the internet, it is hard to pop up in business without telling people your story about how you got started doing what you do, and if you have no track record then you have some explaining to do, if you can really can do what you can do...the beauty of Financing and Funding is if you are really good at getting companies funded you don't have to advertise...You will have people lining up to send you clients to get funding for...In my experience their is no new funding out here, and most follow very similar guidelines in terms of what lenders are looking for...Bottom line I look for is track record...

Things I want to do in the next year are:1) Save money (do this anyways)2) Read Read Read- been reading this blog, realestateinyourtwenties.com, books and more books. 3) Connecting with people via internet- I could have some interviews and meetings with people as early as Christmas break when I visit home, thanks to my Uncle who is already successful in the DFW area. 4) Possibly get my Real Estate salesperson license- This is more of a question.

Kwame would prefer to do this full time after retirement as his fulltime 'job', so we have been ordering books and hitting the internet to read as much as possible.We look forward to the wealth of knowledge and information here on this site, and always willing to learn from members willing to share information.We have not determined where we will live after retirement but our options are Florida or Texas.
