Super high demand and high nightly rates seem like it could make money.Didn't really pencil out with the yearly fee and possible assessments.That is with people almost giving away the timeshare.

As others have pointed out, other areas of real estate might require a degree.I earned an associates in medical electronics and a bachelors in business administration by working full time days and going to both schools at night. 

There are cities that would think you can charge $80 a night but in fact it's already saturated so you'd be forced to drop the rate to $50 just to stay competitive.

But then they get drunk or high and it's World War 3 for a night and lingering problems like job loss or or late rent because of fines.Since it was years ago and only the one charge you might be okay.

I'm not saying he's at fault for his own death but this should be a warning sign to other Landords: do not confront someone at night over unpaid rent or other problems.

They will go on a Friday night to meet a plumber for an emergency, etc.I interviewed 4 a year ago and ended up with someone who is ok but not what I would expect in a professional.
