But remember the more experience likely the higher the billing rate will be so it will require some judgement to assess who meets your needs best.On a related theme you might ask for a name of some of this person's clients that are also engaged in activities similar to yours, or at least some general background on these clients if names are not to be revealed.You might ask your attorney or banker or insurance agent (if you have one or more) for a referral.

There are so many rules about what can and cannot be done in a retirement account and I like the stop gap between me and a whole lotta trouble, which is what the custodian does for me.While I would love the flexibility of being completely self managed, I also love having somebody else make sure I'm not engaging in a prohibited transaction or otherwise putting my entire 401k investments at risk.  

I am excited to engage with this energetic community and would be grateful for any advice wiser members can offer!

@David Harte , as @Dave Foster you will need to engage an QI to facilitate the transaction on both the sell and buy sides.  

I guess hindsight is 20/20 you could say.As the year went on into 2010, he found himself a girlfriend and got engaged.

I'll get started with that and engage with the attorneys you mentioned for the operating agreement.
