I'm frankly surprised at how robust the market has remained.

I'm just beginning research into this market so if anyone has any insight into this area and what to know investing out of the country, I would appreciate it!  

Some options I've considered: - Forward 1031:  Seems to have timing issues (unless my purchase offer has a contingency, which will most likely make my offer pointless in my market).- A reverse 1031: Complex, and possible financing issues for the initial purchase before selling.

If the property is vacant you can use the market rent from the 1007 to qualify.

I’m not as familiar with the tenant market up that way, but if you’re interested in the Syracuse area, multi families are endless possibilities! 

Are these good markets for fix and flip transactions within my budget nowadays?

I'm interested in investing in a short term rental the Somoma County market.

The point is, in these types of markets, original or slightly enhanced kitchens are adequate.
