But even if crime mapping is unavailable I would recommend calling or visiting the local police department and having a talk with them about the safety of the neighborhood/block.

And even if it were stunning newer granite of quartzite, removing installed granite is difficult and usually will crack as it is glued down with some sort of caulk.
