Crime map removed from Realtor.com, what do I use now?

I noticed the crime map layer on the map view of Realtor.com was removed today; see the article below for rationale. While agreeing that it creates bias, can someone recommend another real estate site that includes the crime map layer as it is critical for evaluating a rental purchase, especially as an out-of-state investor? Thanks, Lee

Try crimemapping.com - it's not available for all cities but for the cities it reports for it's great.

Trulia.com also has crime mapping.

The fact they got rid of crime mapping is stupid. When I was looking for a home in Los Angeles I relied on crime mapping. There was more than one property I avoided due to reported assaults and murders.

I ended up buying in Crenshaw and I liked it. I lived there from 2012-2020 and thanks to crime mapping I saw that the neighborhood was safer than others. The ironic part (based on Realtor.com claiming crime mapping penalizes black and Latino communities) is that my neighborhood in Crenshaw was pretty much all black and Latino. I was concerned with the safety of the neighborhood, not with what my potential neighbors looked like. Crime mapping reports crimes and people deserve to know when an area is unsafe.

But even if crime mapping is unavailable I would recommend calling or visiting the local police department and having a talk with them about the safety of the neighborhood/block.
