So my question is... are there any online resources to better target these specific types of properties? 

I do all of that and more expect for some of the bids a those don’t take long to get and I pretty much know what they are anyways since I do a lot of these.The risk with this is if somehow seller can’t deliver clear Title, then you are out these expenditures but that is rare.Not sure about your area, but here in Los Angeles, I can have all the plans completed and submit to B&S (building and safety) before being on Title but to actually get the project to RTI, I do need to show I am on Title or get notarized approval from seller to submit to City.I typically make my offers with closing dates of 10 Days but I love it when sellers need 30 or 60 Days to close as that saves me holding costs while I do all the plans and City submittal/clearances.

It is possible to do a lease that has language that you and the owner will attempt to complete a short sale (will need a realtor involved) at a specified price and that if it is not successful by a certain date then you can get out of your lease. 

Maybe find a bank that operates in both countries if possible or even try an online bank such as Ally, Capital One, or Discover.

You can do it online, but why not take it someplace internationally. 

I have a SFR that is in Cascade township (4/3, 2500+ sq ft), in dated but decent condition that from comps is worth around 270k. 

I called a custodian company in Las Vegas called Preferred Trust and they said it was possible to invest in an online business like an Amazon store or a website with a SDIRA as well as real estate.
