How to find Medium-Rehab Homes?

Hello, my dad and I are new to RE investing and looking for medium-rehab homes in our area, specifically Killeen/Fort Hood, TX.  There is a lot of real estate around here due to the high military population, and new homes coming up all the time, for the exact same reason.  What we're looking to do specifically is to find a medium-rehab home, get it for a very good price, then flip it as-is to someone else for slightly more.

The challenge is that every single-family home that we've checked out only needs light rehab and aside from that, it's habitable and ready for someone to move in.  In such cases, I don't see the money in the flip since we'd be paying too close to market value (unless we find an overly desperate seller.)  So my question is... are there any online resources to better target these specific types of properties?  Or, is it back to the old-school way of "beating the block", looking inside every 80s-era for-sale home in this area until we find one that needs enough rehab that we can put in an offer low enough to make money on the flip?  There has to be a better way...
