Hello multi family fam, Curious, to buy and sell real estate at an international level, what type of license do I need to obtain? Currently I am only licensed in Washington, however, want to take myself and my clients internationally.

Every state and country is different.  Some require you to have a license and some don't.

You might consider taking the CIPS series....I think 5 one day classes.  You can do it online, but why not take it someplace internationally.  I've seen it offered on cruises and in different locations like Costa Rica, Thailand, and France.

Instead of doing it yourself, you can also join a real estate company that has offices all over the world and make your referrals that way.  Get people connected.  Remember you have a duty to be an expert where you assist people...no matter if that is Washington or somewhere else.  You want to provide your clients the highest level of expertise in their transactions.   Referrals I think is the best way to often handle transactions outside your area of expertise and you want a network to do that in.  You might be a condo expert in Spokane, but if someone wants Farm and Ranch property you could refer that out.....if you have a customer who wants to buy in Tokyo....refer that out to a local Japanese agent.....have a customer who wants to buy a vineyard in Argentina....refer that out to a local vineyard specialist.....(and get your client to take you with them on the trip.)

Good luck..have fun....go someplace interesting.
