I have been told it should be in your name, but I use bank statements from an LLC that does not directly match the name I use on the purchase contract and I have yet to get pushback and have had a bunch of offers accepted.If you don’t have the funds then find a private lender that is willing to write you a letter stating that the funds to close will be available regardless of appraisal or home inspection on the property.
