My hosts took over a property last year and substantially upgraded the property, they spend a lot more than $5K, but it was an initial rehab.  

As above, we are definitely trying to keep our fears from clouding our logic on this one.Thanks again, all, this has helped us continue the discussion and keep open to new ways of approaching our plans.

I remember the thread well but the host was only compensated after she went to the media, so of course Airbnb were just concerned about looking bad.

My last contractor used to be the host of a reality show on HGTV and he told me stories.

I am dealing with a basement problem, a few closings and a cloud on title for my normal bread and butter properties.

Hi Greg, I can't speak to best practices or anything formal of that nature, but I hosted a BP get together here in San Antonio earlier this month and everyone seemed to have a great time.
