I’ve done a good amount of research for a week straight, wanted to know if anyone can point me in the right direction of how to successfully start this journey.

I have been doing a very slow crawl (while I clean up past financial mistakes & save cash for future successes) to get into the investment side, but have been working to gather some priceless experience along the way.We purchased our first home in 2005 and that became our very first rental in 2009!

Listen to enough @Michael Blank and you'll recognize his theorey that the second, third, etc. deals come in rapid succession as well.

I have learned that whether you are successful or in a bad situation, it is of your own doing.

Keeping tenants in the lower unit is very difficult to achieve.

Great that Paul was on to share their successes and failures.

I am doing that successfully now. 

Write clear, understandable leases with landlord provisions that you stick to, don't be an arrogant jerk flaunting your economic success, communicate often and humbly, reserve judgment when you can.

Since last year I've participated in 5+ auctions- a mix between live and online and been successful at two of them (two liens, one deed). 

I recently helped my family flip a home successfully and I would like to continue doing that.
