Does it make financial sense to buy a duplex or 4plex in an affordable market as an investment property when I am currently renting myself?

Let’s say my condo makes 30k/yr in AirBNB before taxes, after all my deductions I claims, let’s say it come to 20k that I made, will it be taxed as regular income tax based on my overall income from my other W-2 income, and just putme in whatever bracket?

Single, multi-family, Condo?

It's a 5 year old building, commercial on first floor, 20 condos above.  

I’m a Multifamily investor living in MO but have a complex in Ft Smith and a duplex in Fay but looking for more. 

She Wants To Get A Condo/co-op Because She Said Its Cheaper, Shes Looking To Spend Around 150k.

Would potentially look into a duplex, or a SFH that would appeal to Airbnb or short term rental (basement space or above garage apt).

I had a client in my office yesterday who is house hacking a duplex in Topsham and loving it.

We have just sold our condo in Fremont CA and I am retiring and moving to Austin to be with my older kids.

I plan on renting the condo.
