If the answer is you have enough cash to get you through this transition and this money is truly available to invest I would personally consider looking for deals now and if the right opportunity came up go with an "all cash" purchase.

Rents can be very high in Florida so it makes more sense for us to buy.I've only rented for a short time frame when in transition and the landlady I had was so particular it was not worth the stress.
