I have recently graduated from The Ohio State University and I am currently working in suburban Chicago.I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to save aggressively straight out of college and want to use these savings to invest in a owner-occupied multiplex.I am looking forward to engaging in the community and learning from its mentors and members.

It just seems like a perfect way to get a mentor, and get payed in the process.

Jason,I'm a little worried that you have to talk to your mentor every time the realtor sends you more questions.It sounds like you are missing some component of being able to conduct this deal, whether it is a game plan that you've developed or a lack of education or knowledge.

I have met a neighbor who I am calling my current "mentor" because he has been investing in real estate for about 6 years now and has shown me how he runs his own business.

I probably ought to be a mentor as much as I have been around.  

You don't have to have a local mentor.

I would strongly caution you against wholesaling unless you've got a local mentor you can work with.
