I was always wise with money but around 21 I really started hammering down and by 24 I owned a mixed use property with a rental, my own place to live and a plumbing business.

New wiring and plumbing, bathrooms, and kitchen were all part of the plan but we also ended up restudding almost the entire thing because it was in such bad shape.

You have plumbing and electrical in that wall, plus if you tear it all the way down, you will have to redo the floors. 

Especially because sub-contractors were able to point out items the GC’s overlooked, in particular with plumbing & electrical.So I decided to proceed with being my own GC however hit a road-block with the permits.

There is no specific mention of plumbing or water issues, so wondering if I am right in asking for this to be covered by them?

I'm currently evaluating purchasing a single-family 3-story row home in Philadelphia that will require a complete gut with new HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.

Brand new interior/exterior paint, windows, cabinets, counter-tops, trim, floors, plumbing, HVAC, water heater, and the roof!

No electrical, plumbing.

This includes the condition of the property and all the major systems ( roof, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc), what the property is rented for, when would they be wanting to sell and what they would be willing to sell at.These are just a couple things to keep in mind but there are a multitude of other questions you could ask and you will figure it out as you go.

If it wiring or plumbing inside a wall, it may require opening the walls.
