Places like Branson (although they also have restrictions now) many beach location in AL, FL, SC and I'm sure there are some other pockets where STR was common long long ago.Plenty of issues for decline.People have to go to the office now.Less FREE money from the government.Less travel restrictions, and less fear of travel vs 3 years ago.Student loan forbearance/payments....suspended for the last 3 years, now people will have to pay $300-$500/month and that probably cuts into travel budget.Credit card balances going up, so spending probably gets cut for some.Savings going down, so spending probably gets cut.Pending recession even if mild, discretionary spending is normally one of the 1st things cut.Don't know, but I would guess STR was heavily weighted on driveable trips last 3 years, and people can fly now...so maybe less dependent on STR.Too many STR in many places.Better operators getting into the business vs mom and pop.
