Lease says only toilet paper and human waste goes down the toilet nothing else incl the stuff you listed, and if plumber is called and that stuff is found its on tenants dime.But $600 for that is outrageous.

Will Habitat for Humanity need a mortgage originator for their deals and those people will have to meet such guidelines?

@William Allen hire the inspector, they are going to find faults, errors and omissions just because the builder is human. 

I'm thinking too that I'd like to make a contribution with proceeds to Habitat For Humanity or perhaps another non-profit housing organization, if there is anything in it to fool with.

The only thing I know about Real Estate is that as our human population grows so does the need for housing which tells me Real Estate is where the money is at.
