10% is probably a little steep, and like John said, a flat fee may be more reasonable.Setting up a proper STR is not cheap, but once you are set up properly, you deal with routine breakage.I recommend managing yourself and saving the 20% personally, getting a rockstar cleaning team and a reliable handy person, using something like Hospitable that can help automate messaging when listing, and reading the book from the bookstore here called Short-Term Rental, Long-Term Wealth.

They have called the police on guests (in the middle of the day, for parking over a sidewalk in the driveway, for noise when guests were playing dominoes by the pool and on and on)…one neighbor yelled obscenities at my guests (in front of children), saying, “We don’t want tourists!” 

If people use propstream or datatree they also can find out more information about you.I can also see every parking ticket you got or every arrest. you are not risking anything because its very easy to find out.

I am hoping to roll these two into one loan and reduce my monthly payment/ interest rate on the HELOC as I will be having the debt long term.I also currently own a 11 spot RV Park which I own all 11 units and is currently generating $10,375/month in rent.

Or, would my money be better spent someplace down south or by a National Park that would have year round traffic.My goal is to have a place where my family can spend a couple of weeks during the Summer, pad my retirement a bit, and have a place to leave my kids.Thank you in advance for your input.

I have friends that routinely use ear plugs in a detached single family to eliminate noise from kids, spouses, cars going by on street, etc., when sleeping.
