In the end, I was actually able to talk to a few homeowners that didnt understand what was happening to them by the county and walked them through a plan to save their house....no charge of course, just being a nice citizen when the system was bombarding them with the tax lien that they didnt understand.

We are planning to get a loan, but my fiance is a Norwegian citizen, and the loan details seem less of a headache than over here, but we will need to research this more.

Oh BTW, I live in the city and I have friends and family that live in the city and we are tax paying, law abiding citizens of Baltimore City and I wouldn't categorize us at ZOO ANIMALS.

A non Thai citizen can only buy condos, you have to be married to a Thai person to buy land or a house.My step mom is from Thailand and owns property there.

The previous owner used it for illicit activities, and was a general menace to the rest of the owners and tenants.The bulk of the work is in the bathroom, with water damage to the sub-floor, and a bathtub shower combo which was full of mold/mildew.

If your rentals are outside of LA, I think you are not earning that money in LA, so I think you are OK.The US and California both impose a tax on their citizens and residents based on worldwide earnings, so I guess LA is just following their example.

@Raju,Unless you are a US citizen or have a valid work permit / visa - you, personally, cannot legally work on your Buffalo properties at all.
