As others have said, there are a variety of details to consider.

I listen to Bigger Pockets podcast regularly and am filling up with tons of knowledge from a variety of sources, but most of all through my own experience.  

That said, we never go through big banks - always local, credit unions, or mortgage brokers who can pull from a variety of lending sources including conventional.

Will people always want to live here probably but insanely high prices are sustained by a variety of factors including FDI investment, the best jobs being here, older folks who move to the city because they sold their own home and want to live here, etc.
